July 14 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's consumer prices rose by 2.7% year-on-year in June following a 2.5% increase in May, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said on Wednesday.
On a monthly comparison basis, consumer prices fell 0.2% in June, after adding 0.1% in the previous month, NSI said in a monthly inflation report.
The highest annual price rise, of 12.8%, was registered in the transport sector, which has the third-highest weight in the consumer basket.
Prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages, which have the largest weight in the consumer basket, edged up 0.7% year-on-year. The sub-index tracking the other major category - housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels, increased 3.4% on the year
Bulgaria’s EU-harmonised consumer price index (HICP) rose by 2.4% on an annual comparison basis in June and was unchanged compared to its May level.
