July 10 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's government said on Wednesday that it has approved a 3.7 million levs ($2.1 million/1.9 million euro) transfer to the agriculture ministry's budget for urgent measures aimed at preventing the spread of African swine fever in the country.
There are currently nine confirmed African swine fever outbreaks in the country, the government said in a statement following its weekly meeting.

Eight of the nine confirmed outbreaks were reported since the start of July. All eight were found by Bulgaria's Food Safety Agency in villages in the region of Pleven, in northern Bulgaria.
