September 9 (SeeNews) - A fire broke out on Wednesday night in a modular hospital treating Covid-19 patients in Tetovo, leaving 14 people dead and 12 injured, North Macedonia's health minister Venko Filipce said on Thursday.
The injured patients are out of danger and are currently being treated in the hospital in Tetovo, Filipce said in a Twitter post.
There are no healthcare workers among the deceased, Filipce added.
The fire broke out around 9 pm on Wednesday and spread rapidly throughout the modular hospital in Tetovo, in the country's northwestern part, burning the building to the ground in less than an hour, according to local media reports.
Prime minister Zoran Zaev said on Facebook that the fire was caused by an explosion, adding that the cause of the blast is yet to be determined.
