January 12 (SeeNews) - Dutch-based multi-play and media provider United Group, active in Southeast Europe (SEE), said on Wednesday it has concluded the acquisition of Greek telecoms operator Wind Hellas.
United Media has invested 1.4 billion euro ($1.59 billion) in the Greek market so far, and it plans to allocate an additional 1.3 billion euro over the next five years, the company's statement read.

"The acquisition of Wind Hellas represents a significant breakthrough for United Group and the telecommunications market in Greece. This is another step forward to provide customers in the country with the best products and services our industry can offer," United Group CEO Victoria Boklag said.
The Group added that its customer base climbed to 15.2 million after the latest acquisition helped the figure up by 3.4 million.
The agreement that United Group and Wind Hellas' parent company Crystal Almond Holdings Limited signed in August was cleared by the European Commission in December.
Apart from Greece, the group is present in Croatia, Serbia, Slovenia, Bosnia, Montenegro, North Macedonia and Bulgaria.
