SOFIA (Bulgaria), December 18 (SeeNews) – The Bulgarian units of Austrian insurance group UNIQA said on Monday their combined gross written premiums (GWP) rose by an annual 15% to 122.3 million levs ($73.7 million/62.5 million euro) in the eleven months through November.
The GWP of Sofia-based UNIQA added 4% on the year to 52.6 million levs in the eleven month period, while the GWP of UNIQA Life rose 24% year-on-year to 69.7 million levs, the two companies said in a joint statement.
With a market share of 6.22%, UNIQA was the seventh largest insurer in Bulgaria at end-August, the statement reads.
In Southeast Europe, UNIQA operates in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia.
