SKOPJE (North Macedonia), November 22 (SeeNews) – Austrian insurance group UNIQA said its pre-tax profit from operations in North Macedonia remained flat year-on-year at 300,000 euro ($332,174) in the first nine months of 2019.
The group's total gross written premiums from operations in North Macedonia rose 8% to 10.8 million euro in January-September, UNIQA said in a nine month financial report published on Wednesday.
Gross written premiums in the non-life insurance segment increased 3% to 9.1 million euro, while premiums from life insurance rose by an annual 49% to 1.5 million euro. Premiums from health insurance added 19% to 300,000 euro in the reviewed period.
UNIQA Skopje is successor to Albania's Sigal unit in North Macedonia.
In Southeast Europe, UNIQA also operates in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Kosovo, Montenegro, Romania, and Serbia. The group's gross written premiums in the region - excluding Romania - rose 7% to 240.5 million euro in January-September.
