SARAJEVO (Bosnia and Herzegovina), November 23 (SeeNews) – Austrian insurance group UNIQA said its pre-tax profit from operations in Bosnia and Herzegovina increased to 1.2 million euro ($1.4 million) in the first nine months of 2020, from 1.1 million euro in the prior-year period.
Total gross written premiums from Bosnian operations fell by an annual 5% to 22.8 million euro in the January-September period, UNIQA said in its nine-month 2020 financial report published last week.
Gross written premiums from the non-life insurance segment in Bosnia increased by 4% on the year to 9.8 million euro, while premiums from life insurance fell 11% to 12.1 million euro in the reviewed period.
In the health insurance sector in Bosnia, UNIQA booked growth of 5% in gross written premiums, to 900,000 euro.
In Southeast Europe (SEE), UNIQA also operates in Albania, Bulgaria, Croatia, Kosovo, Montenegro, N. Macedonia, Romania and Serbia.
