ZAGREB (Croatia), November 23 (SeeNews) – Austrian insurance group UNIQA said its earnings before taxes from operations in Croatia plunged to 1.9 million euro ($2.2 million) in the first nine months of 2020, from 7.5 million euro a year earlier.
Total gross written premiums from operations in Croatia fell 9% year-on-year to 57.3 million euro in the January-September period, UNIQA said in its nine-month 2020 financial report published last week.
UNIQA's gross written premiums in the non-life insurance segment in Croatia fell 8% to 33.6 million euro in the review period, gross written premiums from life-insurance declined 7% to 17.4 million euro, while premiums in the health segment dropped 16% to 6.3 million euro.
In Southeast Europe (SEE), UNIQA also operates in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Kosovo, N. Macedonia, Montenegro, Romania and Serbia.
