SARAJEVO (Bosnia and Herzegovina), March 9 (SeeNews) – Austrian insurance group UNIQA said on Thursday its earnings before taxes from operations in Bosnia remained flat on the year at 1.1 million euro ($1.2 million) in 2016.
Total gross written premiums from Bosnian operations increased 10% to 29.9 million euro last year, UNIQA said in its annual financial report.
UNIQA's gross written premiums on the non-life insurance segment in Bosnia accounted for 13.3 million euro of the total 2016 premiums volume, up 13% on the year. Gross written premiums from life insurance increased 7% on the year to 16.5 million euro.
In Southeast Europe, UNIQA operates in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia and Croatia. Its premiums written in the region - excluding Romania - decreased to 274.9 million euro in 2016, down 5% compared to the like period a year earlier.
