SARAJEVO (Bosnia and Herzegovina), April 10 (SeeNews) – Austrian insurance group UNIQA said its earnings before taxes from operations in Bosnia came in at 1.0 million euro ($1.1 million) in 2018, the same as a year earlier.
Total gross written premiums from Bosnian operations increased by 6.6% to 31.6 million euro in 2018, UNIQA said in its annual financial report published on Wednesday.
UNIQA's gross written premiums on the non-life insurance segment in Bosnia accounted for 11.9 million euro of the total 2018 premiums volume, down 10.1%. Gross written premiums from life insurance rose 13% to 18.5 million euro.
In Southeast Europe, UNIQA operates in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia and Croatia.
The group's premiums written in the region - excluding Romania - rose to 307 million euro in 2018, up 8.3% compared to a year earlier.
