August 30 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's competition regulator said on Thursday that consumer goods company Unilever Bulgaria is seeking regulatory approval to acquire a 100% stake in local ice cream maker Sladoledena Fabrika.
The deal is expected to affect the ice cream retail and catering market segments, according to a notice published on the website of the Commission for Protection of Competition.

Unilever Bulgaria is a wholly owned unit of Dutch-based Marga B.V., according to data from the Bulgarian commercial register. The Bulgarian company has a registered capital of 5.2 million levs ($3.1 million/2.7 million euro). Marga B.V. is a unit of Dutch-registered Unilever N.V.
Sladoledena Fabrika, based in the city of Veliko Tarnovo, has a registered capital of 5,000 levs, commercial register data shows. Private individual Rumen Danchev holds a 50% stake in the company, Alexander Tsvetanov and Vilian Tsvetanov hold stakes of 18% each, while Tsvetan Tsvetanov owns the remaining 14%.
