PODGORICA (Montenegro), October 2 (SeeNews) – Montenegrin hotel operator Ulcinjska Rivijera [MNG:ULRI] led the blue-chip gainers on the Montenegrin stock exchange in September, as stock indices ended mixed, bourse data indicated.
The blue-chip index of the Montenegro Stock Exchange, MNSE10, closed September at 834.61 points, up 1.18% month-on-month, but down 6.5% year-on-year.
The benchmark MONEX index, which tracks the 20 most representative shares on the Montenegro Stock Exchange, fell by 0.46% month-on-month in September, reaching 10,772.53 points. The index went down 0.45% year-on-year.
Ulcinjska Rivijera rose the most among the blue chips in September, adding 13.03% month-on-month to 7.6896 euro, as 4,231 of its shares changed hands in 16 transactions.
Coal miner Rudnik Uglja [MNG:RUPV] paced the blue-chip decliners in September, shedding 4.76% month-on-month, to 4.4292 euro. The company generated a share turnover of 11,308 euro. A total of 2,553 shares in Rudnik Uglja changed hands in September in seven transactions.
Turnover from trading in shares on the Montenegro bourse rose in September to 663,981 euro ($780,704) from 2.37 million euro a year earlier.
Trading in corporate bonds contributed 57,347 euro to the bourse's total turnover of 721,328 euro in September. A total of 565 securities of the HBO1 issue of lender Hipotekarna Banka [MNE:HIBP] changed hands in four transactions in September.
A total of 378 transactions were concluded on the bourse in Podgorica in September, versus 390 in August. Stock market capitalisation was 2.843 billion euro at the end of September, down from 2.858 billion euro a month earlier.
