May 9 (SeeNews) - UK-based private clinics operator Harley Street Healthcare Group is considering investment of 20 million euro ($21.1 million) to expand its business to Montenegro where it intends to hire 2,000 employees, Montenegrin media reported on Monday.
"In the long run, we intend to invest 15 million euro to 20 million euro in Montenegro," the Pobjeda daily quoted group CEO Sanjeev Kumar as saying.
The company is in talks for the acquisition of a Montenegrin sector player that has presence across the country, Kumar said.
"We will buy already existing private clinics because taking over is much easier than building new ones due to regulations, and then it will operate under our brand. We will keep the staff of those clinics, reorganise and hire new employees," he noted.
Harley Street Healthcare Group aims to attract patients from entire Europe to its Montenegrin clinics, Kumar added.
The UK-based group represents a consolidated holding consisting of five fully owned healthcare businesses along with three majority-owned subsidiaries as well as various 50/50 joint ventures across the Balkans and South East Asia.
