September 15 (SeeNews) - U.S. multinational online transportation network company Uber Technologies said on Friday it achieved a 55% increase in rides in this years’s tourism season in Croatia, following 70% growth in the summer of 2022.
Compared to pre-pandemic 2019, the increase in rides in the period from June to August 2023 is 33%, the Croatian unit of Uber said in a press release on Friday.
Tourists from the UK, the U.S. and Australia accounted for the largest number of users of Uber this summer in the Croatian towns on the Adriatic coast. In the top 10 of the biggest users are also French, Polish, German, Dutch, Portuguese, Canadian and Spanish tourists.
The longest ride this summer was from the capital Zagreb to Dubrovnik, 613 kilometres, followed by a ride from Sisak, central Croatia, to the Adriatic resort of Tucepi, 571 km.
