November 18 (SeeNews) - United Arab Emirates-based company Rasiyat plans to build a shopping mall and a recreational complex in Bosnia's Zenica, the municipal government said.
"We believe that the strategic location and its potential are huge. [...] We are doing some planning and researching for the project which will create a whole wave of new jobs in Zenica and Bosnia and Herzegovina," the Zenica municipal government quoted Rasiyat CEO Muhammad A. Al-Yamani as saying on Friday.
Three months ago, Rasiyat signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the town of Zenica, some 70 km northwest of Sarajevo, regarding the conditions for the implementation of the project.
"Mr. Al-Yamani is sure that this project will trigger return of our citizens who moved abroad to seek jobs", Zenica mayor Fuad Kasumovic said.
Zenica has a population of some 100,000.
