January 19 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's 1.76 million euro ($1.9 million) tender for hiring an emergency medical services helicopter under dry lease has attracted offers from Belgian airline operator Heliventure FTO and Slovakia's Air Transport Trading, according to Bulgaria’s public procurement register.
The contracting authority is state-owned aviation operator Bulgaria Heli Med Services and the period for submission of offers expired on February 16, the register showed.
The winner in the tender will be selected by February 17, Georgi Gvozdeykov, managing director at Bulgaria Heli Med Services, said at a news conference on Wednesday.
Gvozdeykov expects that the helicopter will be available to Bulgaria and ready for operations by the middle of 2023. The potential contract will be concluded for a term of one year with an option to be extended by another year.
Separately, the Bulgarian government is working on a 135.6 million levs ($75.07 million/69.3 million euro) procedure to purchase six medical helicopters through direct negotiations with Italian aerospace and defence company Leonardo, the health ministry said earlier this month.
