SOFIA (Bulgaria), August 2 (SeeNews) – Trade in five companies generated 93% of the turnover on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE) on Wednesday, bourse data showed.
Total trading turnover on the Sofia bourse rose to 13 million levs ($7.9 million/6.6 million euro) on Wednesday from 1.5 million levs on Tuesday.
Trade in shares of Balkan and Sea Properties [BUL:5H4], Himsnab [BUL:58E], Holding Nov Vek [BUL:6N3], Holding Varna [BUL:5V2] and Velgraf Asset Management [BUL:1VX] generated a turnover of over 2 million levs each.
Central Cooperative Bank [BUL:4CF] was the most traded blue chip on Wednesday, as 181,615 of the company shares changed hands at an average price of 1.735 apiece.
The blue-chip SOFIX index rose 0.26% to 715.14 points, after decreasing 0.27% on Tuesday.
The broader BGBX40 index, which tracks the 40 most traded shares on the BSE, edged down 0.03% to 135.24 points, after losing 0.18% on Tuesday.
The BG-REIT index, which tracks the performance of real estate investment trusts, fell 0.79% to 114.21 points on Wednesday. On Tuesday, the index added 0.10%.
The BG TotalReturn30 index, in which companies with a free float of at least 10% have equal weight, decreased 0.14% to 548.27 points, after edging up 0.06% on Tuesday.
Advance Terrafund [BUL:6A6] led the blue-chip gainers on Wednesday, closing 3.71% higher at 2.323 levs in a trading volume of 35,080 shares.
Holding Varna [BUL:5V2] fell the most among blue chips, as it closed 2.89% lower at 33.5 levs. A total of 91,587 shares in the diversified group were traded in a block deal worth 3.1 million levs on the Sofia bourse on Wednesday.
