August 19 (SeeNews) - Turkish construction firm GAP Insaat will build an international sea port on the Caspian Sea coast of Turkmenistan, the office of Turkish prime minister Recep Erdogan said.
Turkmenistani president Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov and Erdogan laid the foundations for the Turkmenbashi International Ports in the city of Turkmenbashi on Thursday, the office said in a statement published on its website on Thursday.
GAP Insaat, part of Turkish diversified group Calik, should build the port in four years.
The $2.0 billion (1.5 billion euro) project involves the construction of port terminals, a shipbuilding yard and other facilities, Turkish daily Hurriyet reported on Friday.
