April 1 (SeeNews) - Turkish car manufacturer Tofas Turk Otomobil Fabrikasi [IST:TOASO] said it will temporary halt production ofor two weeks due to the coronavirus outbreak.
Production will be suspended from April 3 to April 20, the company said in a statement filed with Istanbul bourse's Public Disclosure Platform (KAP) on Tuesday.
Periodic maintenance activities will be carried out as much as possible during these two weeks so as to keep the effects of the suspension at a minimum. Operations other than the production and manufacturing of medical equipment to fight coronavirus will continue as planned as long as conditions allow, Tofas noted in the statement.
Established in 1968, Tofas manufactures passenger cars and light commercial vehicles. The company is a partnership between local industrial conglomerate Koc Holding and Italian-American Fiat Chrysler Automobiles.
