February 24 (SeeNews) - Turkey's flag carrier Turkish Airlines [IST:THYAO] said it will increase the weekly frequency of direct flights from international destinations to the country's tourism spots by 18% in 2020 compared to a year earlier.
The airline will be operating 98 flights per week from 26 international destinations to the country's tourism centers during the summer, the company said in a statement on Monday.
Turkish Airlines will operate 74 weekly flights from 20 destinations to Antalya. Flights from Moscow to Antalya will double to 14 per week.
The carrier will also increase direct flights to Dalaman to seven per week from four destinations - London, Moscow, Amman and Kiev.
In addition, four weekly flights to Bodrum-Milas Airport are planned from London, Kuwait and Munich each.
Turkish Airlines will be also operating a total of five weekly flights to Izmir from Berlin, Munich, Dusseldorf, Hamburg and Kuwait.
"We are committed to continue and increase our contributions to our country’s tourism sector and its economy. We believe that our new flights will be carrying new tourists and new records on their wings as well," Ilker Ayci, chairman of Turkish Airlines, said in the statement.
