May 6 (SeeNews) - The Turkish Civil Aviation Union Hava-Is said employees of Turkish Airlines [BIST:THYAO] will go on strike on May 15 as no agreement was reached during talks on a collective labour agreement.
The flag carrier refused to accept the trade union's demands, Hava-Is said in a statement on its website on Friday.
The union insists on a pay rise, better working conditions, and re-hiring of 305 employees laid off in 2012 after a strike against the enactment of a law banning industrial action in the aviation sector among others.
The union added that it is open to meetings and solutions by May 15.
"Despite the strike decision, our incorporation has not taken lockout decision and will continue its operations within this framework. It is possible that the parties shall agree on the Collective Bargain Agreement until the strike date", Turkish Airlines said in a statement to Borsa Istanbul on Friday.
