December 5 (SeeNews) - Turkey's Yapi Merkezi completed the breakthrough of the Stepani tunnel on the second track of the Divaca-Koper railway line in Slovenia on November 30, Slovenian state-run project company 2TDK said.
Yapi Merkezi started works on the 335-metre single-tube Stepani tunnel in September, 2TDK said in a statement last week.
The second track of the railway line is constructed by a consortium led by Slovenia's Kolektor CPG which will have to complete the works on about 37,000 metres of tunnels by 2024.
In June, the consortium completed the first tunnel breakthrough along the line.
The consortium is building the two sections of the line, worth 224.7 million euro ($237.4 million) and 403.6 million euro, respectively.
