March 13 (SeeNews) - Turkey's retail sales volume at constant prices rose by 9.6% year-on-year in January, after increasing by 11.9% a month earlier, the country's statistical office said on Friday.
Drinks and tobacco sales volume grew by 5.5% year-on-year in January, while non-food sales, not including sales of motor fuels, increased by 13.6%, TurkStat said in a statement.
Fuel sales volume alone rose by 5.8% in the month under review.
On a monthly comparison basis, retail sales volume at constant prices decreased by 5.8% in January.
Retail turnover at current prices rose by 20.6% on the year in January, after increasing by 23.1% in December 2019.
On a monthly comparison basis, retail turnover at current prices increased by 0.2% in January.
