June 11 (SeeNews) - Turkey's car market grew 13% on the year in volume to 323,000 units in the first five months of 2013, the country's Automotive Manufacturers Association OSD said.
Total motor vehicles output, including passenger cars, light and heavy commercial vehicles, trucks and buses, declined 0.4% on the year to 467,370 units, while exports rose 7% to 351,000 units, the OSD said in a statement on Monday.
January-May passenger car output fell 4% on the year to 248,000 units. Passenger car sales rose 21% on the year to 234,000 units, including a 11% drop in domestic car sales and a 34% growth in imported car sales. Car exports rose 5% to 196,000 units.
In May alone, the motor vehicle market grew by 14% to 85,421 units, production decreased 3% to 96,916 units, exports increased 15% to 75,353 units. The passenger car market grew 24% to 62,383 units, output declined 3% to 54,157 units, exports rose 20% to 44,747 units.
