May 11 (SeeNews) - Turkey's unemployment rate fell 1.1 percentage points year-on-year to 13.6% in February, the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) said on Monday.
There were 4.23 million unemployed people aged 15 and over in February, a decrease of 502,000 compared to the same month of 2019, TurkStat said in a statement.
The employment rate edged down 1.7 percentage points year-on-year in February to 43.1%, which translates into 26.75 million people.
Labour force participation rate fell 2.6 percentage points to 49.9%, or 30.98 million people in the month under review.
Youth unemployment rate (age bracket 15-24 years) fell to 24.4%, down 1.7 percentage points compared to February 2019. Youth employment rate decreased by 2.5 percentage points to 29.5% in the review period.
