March 30 (SeeNews) - Turkey's health minister Fahrettin Koca said that the number of coronavirus cases in Turkey has risen to 9,217 as of Sunday, with confirmed deaths from the infection reaching 131, local Sabah Daily reported.
Around 1,815 of the 9,982 most recent tests were positive, Sabah Daily reported on Sunday, citing health ministry statistics.
Sabah also quoted interior minister Suleyman Soylu as saying that there were around 20 police officers among the infected.
Over the weekend, the government ordered the closure of beaches and park areas and banned intercity bus travel except in cases of emergency. At least 12 towns have been placed in quarantine.
