April 9 (SeeNews) - Turkey's health minister Fahrettin Koca said that 38,226 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in the country as of Wednesday, local media reported.

Since the outbreak of the disease it has claimed the lives of 812 people in Turkey, Sabah Daily quoted Koca as saying in a Twitter post on Wednesday.

The number of recoveries has risen to 1,846.

Turkey recently imposed an all-day curfew for people under the age of 20 in addition to a nationwide 24-hour curfew on weekends for people aged 65 or over introduced earlier.

The country had also put under quarantine 31 of its 81 provinces, including Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir.
