January 5 (SeeNews) - Turkey's consumer price index (CPI) added 36.08% year-on-year in December, after increasing by an annual 21.31% in the previous month, the country's statistical office said.
On a monthly comparison basis, Turkey's consumer prices added 13.58% in December, following a 3.51% increase in November, TurkStat said in a statement.
The annual rise in consumer prices in December was driven by higher prices of transportation services which went up 53.66% on the year. Food and non-alcoholic beverages followed with a price increase of 43.80% year-on-year, whereas prices of household goods grew 40.95%.
Prices of communication services increased the least in the month under review - by an annual 8.76%, TurkStat also said.
