October 4 (SeeNews) - Turkey's consumer price index (CPI) rose 19.58% year-on-year in September, after increasing by an annual 19.25% in the previous month, the country's statistical office said on Monday.
On a monthly comparison basis, Turkey's consumer prices added 1.25% in September, following a 1.12% increase in August, TurkStat said in a statement.
The annual rise in consumer prices in September was driven by higher prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages which went up 28.79% on the year. Household goods followed with a price increase of 23.27% year-on-year, whereas prices of restaurants and hotels climbed up by 23.27%.
Prices of alcoholic beverages and tobacco increased the least in the month under review - by an annual 1.80%, TurkStat also said.
