August 4 (SeeNews) - Turkey's consumer price index (CPI) increased by 11.76% year-on-year in July, after rising by 12.62% in June, the country's statistical office said on Tuesday.
On a monthly comparison basis, Turkey's consumer prices edged up 0.58% in July, after a 1.13% increase in June, TurkStat said in a statement.
The year-on-year rise in consumer prices in July was driven by prices of miscellaneous goods and services which increased by 21.9%. Prices of alcoholic beverages and tobacco were up 21.78% year-on-year in July, whereas health service prices rose by 14.17% compared with July 2019.
Prices of transportation rose by 8.81% year-on-year in the month under review, furnishings and household equipment prices were up 7.78% and prices of consumer spending on recreation and culture increased by 6.04%.
