ANKARA (Turkey), January 30 (SeeNews) – Registrations of road motor vehicles in Turkey grew 13% year-on-year in December, reaching 63,536, the country's statistical office said.
On a monthly comparison basis, the number of commercial vehicle registrations fell by 5.3% in December, TurkStat said in a statement on Thursday.
In terms of types of vehicles, registrations of trucks increased the most in the period under review - by 52% compared to December 2018. Registrations of motorcycles were up 50% year-on-year. For minibuses the rise was 31%, for small trucks 13%, for buses 11.3% and for cars 9.6%.
Registrations of special purpose vehicles showed an annual decline by 27%, while for tractors the drop was 2.5%.
Of the total number of road motor vehicles registered in December, cars accounted for 65.8%, followed by small trucks 12.3%, motorcycles 11.5%, tractors 6.4%, trucks 1.5%, minibuses 1.5%, bus 0.8% and special purpose vehicles 0.2%.
