April 23 (SeeNews) - Turkish construction company Cengiz Insaat Sanayi Ve Ticaret A.S. and Bosnian civil engineering company Euro-Asfalt have placed bids to build the 2.65 km Ponirak -Vraca subsection of Corridor Vc in the central part of Bosnia, motorway operator Autoceste FBiH said.
The subsection, which will feature a 2.47 km tunnel, should be built in 30 months, Autoceste FBiH said in a statement on Saturday.
The construction works will be financed through a 50 million euro ($56.1 million/97.8 million marka) loan from the European Investment Bank (EIB) and grant funds from the Western Balkans Investment Framework (WBIF), the statement added.
Corridor Vc is a branch of the fifth Pan-European corridor and with a total length of 700 km will connect Hungary and eastern Croatia to Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Adriatic Sea.
The Federation is one of two entities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the other is the Serb Republic.
