March 6 (SeeNews) - Turkey's car exports decreased by 0.9% year-on-year in February to $2.5 billion (2.21 billion euro), local media reported on Friday, citing data by Uludag Automotive Exporters' Association (OIB).
The automotive industry's exports represent 17.2% of the country's overall exports in the month under review, Anadolu Agency reported.
Passenger car exports alone grew by 14% on the year in February, reaching $1.8 billion. The automotive supply industry fell by 5% to $847 million.
Exports to the EU bloc accounted for 75% of Turkey's overall automotive exports in February, according to the media report.
Automotive exports totalled $4 billion in the first two months of 2020, a 1% rise on the year, OIB chairman, Baran Celik, said, as quoted by the same media agency.
