November 18 (SeeNews) - New motor vehicle registrations in Turkey increased by 7.4% year-on-year to 879,970 units in the nine months through September, the country's statistics institute said on Monday.
The total number of vehicles registered in Turkey reached 17.7 million by the end of September. Passenger cars had a share of 51.5%, followed by small trucks with 16.4% and motorcycles with 15.3%, the institute said in a statement.
In September alone new motor vehicle registrations in the country grew by 12.2% on the year and by 10.4% month-on-month to 95,204 units. Cars accounted for 54.5%, motorcycles for 20.9% and small trucks for 12.3% of the new registrations during the month.
