August 29 (SeeNews) - Turkey's trade deficit widened 18.3% to $60.46 billion (45.4 billion euro) in the seven months through July, the country's statistical institute said on Thursday.
Exports increased by 1.3% on the year to $88.29 billion and imports rose by 7.6% to $148.76 billion in the review period, the institute said in a statement on its website.
In July alone the country's trade gap expanded 22.5% on the year to $9.8 billion as exports rose 2.2% to $13.1 billion and imports grew 10% to $22.9 billion.
Turkey's biggest export market in July was Germany, followed by Iraq, the UK and Russia. Germany was also the biggest importer in Turkey, followed by Russia, China and Italy.
