August 28 (SeeNews) - Turkey will spend 923 million Turkish lira ($448 million/336 million euro) on the construction and renovation of 18 airport terminal buildings, General Directorate of State Airports Authority's (DHMI) general director told local news agency Anadolu Ajansi.
DHMI will invest a total of 163 million lira in the construction of new terminal buildings at the Agri, Kars, Mardin and Balikesir-Koca Seyit airports, with planned start of operation in the current year, Birdal said in an interview to the news agency. Terminal buildings for a total cost of 257 million lira are planned be put in service in 2014 at the Konya, Van-Ferit Melen, Diyarbakir airports, he added.
Turkey has 50 active civil airports, according to information on DHMI's website.
