February 12 (SeeNews) - Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) will deliver high throughput satellites to Argentina’s national telecommunications company ARSAT in 2024, which will be Turkey's first export in the field of space technology, Ankara-based media reported on Friday.
TAI will deliver the satellites through its subsidiary GSATCOM Space Technologies - a joint venture of the Turkish company and Argentina-based technology firm INVAP, Anadolu Agency quoted Turkey's Defense Industries Presidency (SSB) as saying in a statement.
The price of the deal was not disclosed.
TAI, GSATCOM and INVAP engineers are expected to develop the ARSAT-SG1 communication satellite within three years.
The satellite, which has a fully electric propulsion system and an output capacity exceeding 50 Gbps in Ka-Band, will be used for civilian data transfer.
TAI is located in Ankara on a 4 million sq m area with an industrial facility of over 296,000 sq m under its roof, according to information published on the company's website.
