January 23 (SeeNews) - Turkey expects its exports to surpass $190 billion (171 billion euro) in 2020, Ismail Gulle, head of the Turkish Exporters’ Assembly (TIM), said earlier this week, as quoted by local media.
The country's exports amounted to $180.5 billion in 2019, up 2.04% compared with the previous year, Gulle said, as quoted by Hurriyet Daily News on Tuesday.
Exports in the furniture sector alone totalled $3.5 billion in 2019 - a 10.2% rise on the year, he said, adding that the furniture segment is expected to generate $10 billion in exports in 2023.
Under its export strategy, Turkey is seeking to reach $500 billion in export revenue in 2023 as part of a plan aimed at pushing up economic growth, data on TIM's website shows.
