September 18 (SeeNews) - Turkey's government held Wednesday a groundbreaking ceremony for a city hospital project under public private partnership (PPP) in Ankara, the prime minister's office said Wednesday.
A joint venture between local companies IC Ictas and DIA is the private partner of the project.
The hospital complex will include rehabilitation hospital, psychiatric hospital and other specialised units spread on total area of 1.2 million sq m in Ankara's Bilkent district and will offer 3,662 beds. The complex is expected to be opened in April 2016, Turkey's prime minister Recep Erdogan said during the ceremony, quoted in a statement on the website of his office.
Erdogan added that the start of construction of a second hospital in Ankara would be marked in the coming weeks.
Turkey's ministry of health last week signed PPP agreements with investors for the establishment of 14 city hospitals across the country.
