May 22 (SeeNews) - Foreign tourist arrivals to Turkey fell by 99.26% on the year to 24,238 in April, data by the tourism ministry showed.
A total of 4.26 million international visitors arrived in Turkey in the first four months of 2020, down 51.2% compared with the same period of 2019, figures showed.
The province of Edirne attracted 11,850 foreign visitors, or some 48.9% of all international arrivals in April.
Artvin followed with 3,093 visitors, or 12.8% of the total number, while Kilis came in third, attracting 2,297 international visitors, or 9.5% of all foreign tourist arrivals.
Tourists from Bulgaria accounted for 25.7% of all foreign arrivals, as their number reached 6,240 in April.
In April, Turkey attracted 1,846 visitors from Ukraine, or 7.6% of the total number of international tourists, and 1,760 from Georgia, or 7.26% of the total figure.
