April 29 (SeeNews) - Turkish mobile phone operator Turkcell [IST:TCELL] said that its consolidated net profit fell to 873.9 million lira ($125 million/115 million euro) in the first quarter of 2020, from 1.24 billion lira in the corresponding period of last year.
Total revenue for the January-March period increased to 6.66 billion lira, compared with 5.67 billion lira in the first three months of 2019, the company said in an interim financial statement.
Turkcell's operating profit totalled 1.34 billion lira in the three months through March 2020, compared with 1.05 billion lira in the same period a year earlier.
Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) rose to 2.8 billion lira from 2.3 billion lira.
Turkcell has been operating in Turkey since 1994.
