August 14 (SeeNews) - Turkish mobile phone operator Turkcell [IST:TCELL] said that it made a consolidated net profit of 1.73 billion lira ($234 million/199 million euro) in the first half of 2020, compared with 1.72 billion lira profit in the corresponding period of last year.
Total revenue for the January-June period increased to 13.2 billion lira from 11.3 billion lira in the first six months of 2019, the company said in an interim financial statement on Thursday.
Profit from operating activities totalled 4.06 billion lira in the six months through June, compared with 3.3 billion lira in the like period of 2019.
Total costs also rose, reaching 9.5 billion lira in the period under review, up from 8.2 billion lira a year earlier.
Turkcell has been operating since 1994.
