March 24 (SeeNews) - A consortium led by Slovenia's Kolektor CPG has completed the excavation of 18.5 km out of a total 37.4 km of tunnels on the second track of the Divaca-Koper railway line, state-run project company 2TDK said.
The excavation of the service pipes of the 3,808-metre Skofija tunnel will be completed shortly, 2TDK said on Thursday.
The consortium, comprising Kolektor CPG and Turkey's Yapi Merkezi and Ozaltin, completed the breakthrough of the main pipe of Skofija tunnel a month ahead of schedule earlier this month.
Slovenia's government extended the deadline for the construction of a second track of the Divaca-Koper railway line to the middle of 2026 from the end of 2025. The government also increased the estimated investment value of the remaining works to 1.027 billion euro ($1.11 billion) from 940 million euro.
