November 3 (SeeNews) - Insurer Triglav [LJE:ZVTG] was the top blue chip gainer on the Ljubljana Stock Exchange (LJSE) on Thursday.
The insurer's shares added 1.55% to a close of 23 euro ($25.5), as the stock generated a turnover of only 49,500 euro, bourse data indicated.
On Wednesday, Triglav announced that the A.M. Best credit rating agency has upgraded its financial strength rating of “A–” to “A” (excellent) and the issuer credit rating of “a–” to “a” (excellent).
"The credit ratings reflect the Company’s consistently excellent performance over the past five years, its leading position on the Slovene market and strong Triglav brand recognition in the region", the company said in a statement filed with the bourse.
The SBITOP index, which tracks the most liquid and highly capitalised stocks on the LJSE, dropped 0.22% to 739.76 points, after falling 0.70% on Wednesday.
Out of the seven blue chip companies five ended in negative territory, while two rose.
Household appliances producer Gorenje [LJE:GRVG] led the blue-chip decliners on Thursday, as its shares declined 2.94% to a close of 8.735 euro, after rising 2.49% to 9 euro in the previous trading session.
The bourse total turnover increased to 1.3 million euro from 1.16 million euro on Wednesday.
Fuel retailer Petrol [LJE:PETG] generated the highest turnover on Thursday, or 596,840 euro. The stock closed at 317 euro, up 0.32%.
