May 31 (SeeNews) - Romanian construction company Transilvania Constructii said on Wednesday that it plans to invest more than 10 million euro ($10.7 million) in the generation of green energy.
The company wants all projects within its portfolio to generate green energy over the next five years, it said in a press release.
"[...] our priority is to reduce carbon emissions in existing properties through various solutions, and to eliminate as much as possible CO2 emissions in new developments, both in the construction phase and in the building use phase," said Andrei Timofte, general manager of Transilvania Constructii.
TRC Park Cluj, an industrial park owned by the company which comprises five buildings with a total leasable area of 42,000 sq m, will be the first project to start producing green energy as soon as July this year. For the purpose, the company has allocated almost 1 million euro. The solar panels which will be installed at TRC Park Cluj will deliver 1,156 MWh of solar energy per year.
Transilvania Constructii is a developer, owner and manager of real estate assets, with over 20 years of experience. The company owns more than 250,000 sq m of built-up area of industrial and commercial properties.
