January 26 (SeeNews) - Romanian power grid operator Transelectrica [BSE:TEL] led the gainers among the blue chips on the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) on Thursday, bourse data showed.
The total equity turnover of the BVB fell to 35.3 million lei ($8.4 million/7.8 million euro) from 45.2 million lei on Wednesday.
Transelectrica was the top blue-chip gainer, climbing 1% to 30.25 lei in 1.05 million lei turnover.
Nuclearelectrica [BSE:SNN], the operator of Romania's sole nuclear power plant Cernavoda, led the decliners among the blue chips on the BVB. Its shares changed hands down 3.09% to 5.65 lei on Thursday, a sharp decrease from Wednesday.
In regular trading, Romanian power supplier and distributor Electrica [BSE:EL] rose 0.59% to 13.62 lei, as 602,631 of the company shares changed hands in the largest trading turnover for the day amounting to 7.9 million lei.
Blue-chip oil and gas group OMV Petrom [BSE:SNP] posted the day’s second highest turnover of 4.2 million lei as 14.7 million of the company shares were traded. The operator's shares rose 0.17% to 0.2865 lei.
Blue-chip lender Banca Transilvania [BSE:SNG] gained 0.21% to 2.3550 lei in the day's third largest turnover of 2.3 million lei.
