July 9 (SeeNews) - Tourist arrivals to Split increased 11% on the year in the first half of 2019, reaching 325,400, as the number of overnights rose 14% to 848,200, Croatia's tourism ministry said.
In June alone, the number of tourist arrivals to Split increased to 130,400, while the number of overnights rose 13% on the year to 363,500, the tourism ministry said in a statement on Monday without giving a percentage figure for the rise in arrivals.
Data by the Tourist Board of Split, however, shows that tourist arrivals in June were up 10% year-on year.
Foreign tourist arrivals contributed the most to the growth, as their number increased by 11% on the year in June.
Split is the second largest city in Croatia and the biggest one on the country's Adriatic coast.
