November 9 (SeeNews) - Tourist arrivals in Zagreb city and on Croatia's Adriatic coast rose 8.2% to 13.77 million through October with overnights up 6.8% to 77.7 million, the country's tourism ministry said.
Tourism is a key industry for Croatia, accounting for around a fifth of the country's gross domestic product.
Croatia's biggest feeder markets through October were Germany, Slovenia, Austria, the Czech Republic, Italy, Poland, Slovakia, the UK, the Netherlands and Hungary, the ministry said on Friday, quoting data from the country's regional tourism associations.
The Adriatic country reported an 5.6% increase in tourist numbers to 13.13 million in 2014, while overnights were up by 2.6% to 66.5 million.
