BELGRADE (Serbia), July 3 (SeeNews) – Total foreign remittances to Serbia increased by 3.2% year-on-year to 1.01 billion euro ($1.14 billion) in the first four months of 2019, central bank data shows.
In April alone, total foreign remittances to Serbia, including all current transfers between resident and non-resident households, grew by 5.3% on the year to 311 million euro, according to figures published by the central bank in a balance of payments report.
The remittances of citizens working abroad went down by 1.3% year-on-year in the first four months of 2019 to 694 million euro, after growing 0.4% on the year to 224 million euro in April, the data showed.
The flow of foreign remittances into Serbia increased to 3.43 billion euro in 2018 from 2.96 billion euro in 2017.
