September 23 (SeeNews) - Total foreign remittances to Serbia increased by 21% year-on-year to 1.984 billion euro ($2.322 billion) in the first seven months of 2021, central bank data shows.
In July alone, total foreign remittances to Serbia, including all current transfers between resident and non-resident households, rose by 6.9% on the year to 341 million euro, according to figures published by the central bank in a balance of payments report.
The remittances of citizens working abroad went up by 24.3% year-on-year in the first seven months of 2021 to 1.451 billion euro, the data showed.
The flow of foreign remittances into Serbia decreased to 3.12 billion euro in 2020 from 3.52 billion euro in 2019.
